Truly Alone

Do you even know what it’s truly like to be alone?​

To exist as a living corpse whose mere purpose was to rot away as no one, not a single person looked your way. They walk on me, walk through me, as if I were a ghost who died the most pathetic death of all. To not be remembered by anyone. Do you know what it’s like to be present through your most difficult times but then discarded when you find something, someone new to replace me with. Like an old doll left on the shelf I was there. I watch you grow up and I watch you forget about me. All the pain I’ve felt through those years and you, you have the gall to say I don’t know what you’re going through. You, who had spent your days in the sun feeling the warmth and comfort of people you didn’t even know. You, who had never thought that within the sunshine there are shadows and darkness enough to snuff out any light that remained in its presence. To be treated like a human shield when flaming arrows were sent your way. To be beaten and burned and crushed long enough for you to escape only to find out that you…. You were the mastermind behind everything. Now you sit here all by yourself and call on me to help you once again and once again I am thrown out like the trash you treat me like I am. As if I were just a simple replacement tool to use until the job was finished. Look around you. LOOK AROUND YOU. You act like none of this is your fault like there’s someone else pulling the strings behind this madness you call a game. God, you’re such a sore loser. You play the part of the victim well, so well in fact that even you started to believe it. But it’s like you said, I wouldn’t know what that feels like. It’s not like while you went on your little adventure with your new friends, like I was trapped in a box, left in a corner to be forgotten about. Don’t apologize though. It took me a while to pull out all the knives you plunged into my soul, into my very being. Blame yourself for the person you once hurt, but not the monster you’ve created…. 

So, I’ll ask you again

Do You Know What A Rainbow Taste Like?

Do you know what a rainbow tastes like?

 

With all its colors, its flavor must be quite unique.

 

It’s not sugar, nor the sweetness of any ripe fruit

But something softer

 

A kaleidoscope of almosts and maybes painting the skies in bliss as it touches the tongue of possibility 

 

It’s a rush of endless adventures

 

A taste so rich it turns dreams into reality birthing a world of its own

 

Its symphony of shifting notes conducted by the hands of a violent storm

 

It swirls around throwing itself at those who dare to chase the ends of its melody with a flash of colour caught only in a glims

 

Like a flames it too stares at it’s creator for a definition as its purpose is defined through a name

 

A puzzle without pieces 

 

A well without water

 

Calm born from chaos

 

Stillness after the storm

 

You are the seeker and the sought

 

A wanderer in the map you designed knowing that the journey is far more important than the place it leads

 

One can only be lost if they’ve moved

 

So move

 

Let the wind be you compass and the stars your witness 

 

Every step you take marks the sea you dared to voyage 

 

If you ever find yourself wondering about its flavor know only this

 

It is not for the tongue but felt through your spirit

 

It is the part of you that laughs in the rain

 

That sails through the storm

 

The part of you that hears the harmony in the wind and dances through thee unknown

 

It is the part of you that gives itself a name and signs it boldly upon the canvas of the world.
